Tanzania Karatu Vohora Family Natural SL-28
CUP PROFILE: Strawberry Cheesecake, Ripe cantaloupe, Zesty
About the coffee:
This SL-28 cultivar from Karatu, Tanzania, is a traditional natural coffee, meticulously crafted by the Vohora family at Finagro Farm, nestled on the Ngorongoro caldera. Expect a rich, fruit-forward flavor profile with layered notes of blueberry, strawberry cheesecake, ripe cantaloupe, and dark chocolate
When brewed, we were pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly delicious this coffee turned out across various parameters, whether using a conical or flat-bottomed pour-over device. The dry aroma is intense and reminds us of strawberry cheesecake.
We tasted an explosion of strawberries in every form—strawberry cheesecake, jam, shortcake, you name it. The fruit-forward notes are vibrant yet clean, reminiscent of the iconic gateway naturals of the late 2000s. The flavors are compelling enough to turn anyone into a natural coffee enthusiast. You'll also discover layers of peach, blueberry, cane sugar, ginger, ripe cantaloupe, and lemon curd. While obviously fruit-forward, this coffee has a multifaceted depth that keeps you coming back for more.
We bought this from Royal coffee and heres what they had to say about this coffee. We agree with all their points!
