Great for Drip & Espresso. The Pour over crowd will really enjoy this one! The Raspberry notes are very dominate.
*****WARNING!!!! ****
This is a wild cup! The Raspberry notes can be overpowering for some. Grinding courser can also help.
CUP PROFILE: Raspberry, Mandarin Orange, Hibiscus, Sweet & Sugary
BODY: Medium
ACIDITY: Bright
PROCESS: Termico
About: The Termico (Thermic) Process: The Termico process is a new, experimental coffee process invented by don Luis Campos of Cordillera de Fuego. The process starts with cherries picked at their ripest, allowing them to have a high sugar content and thus feeding the Termico process. The semi-washed coffee is then heated with some of the coffee mucilage left on the bean. The exposure to the heat starts to breakdown the natural sugars of the coffee cherries, partially caramelizing them. This inventive process gives the coffee an exceptionally sweet and fruity flavor as well as a round and balanced cup.
Don Luis Campos The owner and founder of Cordillera de Fuego, don Luis Campos, purchased his farm in 1984 shortly after graduating from university. Over the past 10 years don Luis has been experimenting with different coffee processing methods such as natural, honeys, thermic (termico) and anaerobic. In addition to quality innovation the farm and wet mill joined the national group NAMA (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions) in 2017 with the objective as a group to reach reduction emissions of green house gases within the coffee sector. One of the biggest projects they have done is the installation of solar panels, with these panels the main office is able to run off of 100% solar energy plus the solar panel also supply more than 50% of the energy for the wet mill.
Tasting Notes Costa Rican producers are on the cutting edge of processing technology, and this Thermic “termico” processed coffee embodies the spirit of innovation. The coffee offers deep sweetness, high-toned florals, and a distinct umami undercurrent. Acidity is bright and juicy, and the cup foregrounds notes of pink grapefruit zest, raspberry yogurt and butterscotch. The body is viscous and smooth, and the finish is nuanced and flavor-packed.

Roast Level:
Light - Medium . Our goal is to bring as much sweetness and character of the bean forward without over roasting the flavors out of the bean. This is more of a light roast to bring out the brightness were this coffee shines.

It is such a tasty, brightly acidic and tangy coffee. Lots of fruit.

These beans are really enjoyable as espresso only, or mixed with milk: really nice discernable flavors, strong enough to hold its own with milk, and different than much of the espresso beans out there. Highly recommend!

You don't try to find the tasting notes with this bean, they slap you in the tastebuds! Goes great with milk and makes a absolutely tasty espresso shot. Another home run from my favorite roasters!

Outstandingly unique! Early on i got notes of wine and carbonated kombucha. Later on I discovered grinding courser gave me more fruit punch-of grape, raspberry and cherry notes. Not for everyone but a must try!

Good Brothers Coffee managed to bring out the flavors of this bean. I wanted to try the new Termico roast process and I was blown away by the sweetness of this coffee, compared to others from the same country. I made espresso with it, but this is better suited for pour overs and infusion brew (French press or syphon). I highly recommend.

The Costa Rica beans produce one of the most delicious espresso shots I’ve ever tasted. These beans have become my all time favorite and I was hesitant to write this review so I could keep this secret for myself!! Fruit forward flavors with raspberry notes and a natural sweetness that can’t be beat. Amazing! I love these beans and I’m so glad I gave Good Brothers a try. We have good beans available here in Brooklyn but I really enjoy Good Brothers. Give it a try

This one is special. As soon as you open the bag, your nose is greeted with the wonderful aroma of a fermentation process that brings out the flora/fruity nuances of this bean. The taste is just as wonderful. I'm so glad I get to enjoy this every day. Good job, GB!
