I wanted to try out the paper filters for my double basket ECM Classika.
I use them in the bottom of the filter basket after wetting them. I used the template provided in the what size do I need instructions on this site. This was very helpful. I was able to get the exact size I needed. I am getting very consistent shots with less channeling having the paper on bottom and some careful WDT after.
I highly recommend giving them a go. Before you give them a try. Print out the template and cut out the circles to find the right fit. I was surprised how much smaller I needed.

I used the size "C" porta paper filters previously but found them slightly too large. The size "B" covers the holes in the basket & drops in easily. The machine I use is an old Krups model 963. Very basic steam pressure unit.

These actually fit my VST 18g and VST 20g baskets. On my Rancilio Silvia, at least, they seem to allow grinding a bit finer or using a higher dose to push extraction higher.

I love these filters to a ridiculous extent! I happened to see mentions in an espresso thread a while back about studies that indicate a link between cholesterol and unfiltered coffee. Sure enough, my always low cholesterol had increased after several years of drinking French Press coffee with no other lifestyle changes, so anecdotally it made sense. Now that I make espresso at home, I was so happy to find these filters. They are a perfect fit (thanks to Brent for the help on sizing) and an added bonus is they keep the portafilter basket so much cleaner. Now my conundrum is whether to buy another size for on top of the puck instead of using a puck screen. They're that cool!

I’ve been using these filters for A couple months. Reduce the fines, they keep the small holes of the filter from getting plugged. When you knock the puck out, it comes out cleanly. And they improve extraction.

The size G fits perfectly in the bottom of my Breville Barista Express 54mm. You will need to pre-moisten the filter prior to grind. I did have to tweak the grind a bit smaller to get the correct espresso pull pressure range. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase.

Using a paper filter does seem to smooth out the taste when used below the grounds on the portafilter. Makes it very easy to knock out the "puck" after brewing also. Very clean.

I wanted to try pulling shots using a paper filter and saw Good Brothers papers on another site and purchased them. Later I realized they come in different sizes and the ones I had were slightly small for my Pullman basket. I went directly to Good Brothers Coffee website and looked up my basket using the size guide and purchased the correct size. They are working perfectly now. It’s amazing how much they increase your flow, but I dialed in grinding much finer, and my extractions are now very even, without channeling, and the pucks look great. I’m happy with these, especially using the correct size

I can’t get over how much of a difference these paper filters make. Fits perfectly in my portafilter and the cleanup is non existent. Portafilter is super clean. Puck knocks right out with the filter on it. Did have to adjust my grind size a little finer but I feel I am getting much better shots with no channeling at all. If you are on the fence give them a try. Definitely worth it. Side note Brent was super helpful making sure I got the right size filters. A1 service all the way around. Definitely will be stocking up on these

I place the filter at the base of the basket to catch all the ground fines (my grinder isn’t all that great). This actually speeds up the flow, allowing me to grind finer and get even better extraction.
